The Arenal Volcano starts with a drive to the active north-western side of the volcano. Once there you will start on a hike through Las Coladas Trail which crosses the rain forest and goes over a large lava flow from 1992. It is possible to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife, and magnificent lava formations.

This is a good combination of horseback and hiking in a beautiful scenario. Experience is not needed in this tour, trained horses will take you to the entrance of the waterfall through private farms, forest and hills, where you will have spectacular views. When you get to the entrance of the waterfalls, we will leave the horses and start to descend to the river. This is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the forest and wildlife while you swim in the crystalline waters of the river.

This tour, which begins at 7:30 a.m. gives you the opportunity, in a single day, to enjoy all attractions that we have at the Arenal region! To Start the tour you have the choice to visit Eco Centro Danaus or the Arenal Hanging Bridges. At the Eco Center you will observe and learn about the natural history of the butterflies of Costa Rica such as the Blue Morpho and the Monarca. You will also see a wide variety of tropical plants and traditional crops being farmed organically.

The Caño Negro Wildlife refuge is considered the best site on the continent for bird watching. In addition to an abundance of birds, Caño Negro is also home to many exciting animals, such as sloths, three types of monkeys, caimans, lizards, bats and a wide variety of flora native to the wetlands. Our tour to this beautiful region leaves from La Fortuna and takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to Los Chiles, a small village just five kilometers from the Nicaraguan border.

This walk take place in a small reserve whose focus is conservation and education. You will see, The Butterfly Garden , whose purpose is the cultivation and the upbringing of butterflies in a scientific way, a place where they treat eggs, larves and pupas for exhibition, 30 different butterfly species in their natural state of living. Botanic Garden, include more than 600 species of plants, such heliconias, orchids, palms, bromeliads, native trees, among others species of the tropical rain forest.

For those lovers of the birds, our tour will give you the opportunity to appreciate and to identify some of the species of the great biodiversity of Costa Rica. Birds are most active early in the morning and in the afternoon. Join us for one or both of these walks for an amazing display of tropical birds. You will have the opportunity to see toucans, parrots, oropéndolas, colorful tanagers and parakeets.

For those who don't mind getting wet and muddy, this fascinating underground adventure will take you through a labyrinth of passages and chambers in which you will see interesting rock formation called, "La Papaya", stalactites, stalagmites, bats, spiders and evidence that the caves were at one time at the bottom of the ocean.

We begin the journey by traveling moving from La Fortuna around the Volcán Arenal to the hotel "Observatory Lodge", where we begin the walk toward the Cerro Chato through a very dense primary forest. While there we visit the lake, where you can swim, take pictures and get to know the surroundings.

We leave at 7:00 a.m. from La Fortuna. We will have a typical breakfast on the way to Río Celeste located in the Volcán Tenorio National Park, where we will begin a walk of 7 kilometers. (4 hours, approximately) through the rain forest. We will visit the place called "Los Teñideros", in this place we will find two sprins of blue crystal water, reason why this name was given.

This tour takes place on a 600 acre reserve filled with lush vegetation and a variety of birds and animals which your experienced guide will help you spot. The trail itself is 1.9 miles in length, crossing nine fixed bridges and 6 suspension bridges. This is an easy hike tat all can enjoy.

After breakfast we start our tour. To arrive to this destination we drive for about 45 minutes in minibus and later we will continue in a 4x4 car for 1 hour to the scientific station of Pocosol, driving around a volcanic lake at an altitude of 1.100 meters. We will hike on the trails for about 4 hours to admire the surrounding ecosystem of primary forest and small volcanic fumaroles.

We will begin the tour at 7 a.m when our transportation will pick you up at your hotel in La Fortuna to drive you to Arenal Lake, Then you take a boat for 15 minutes to the other side of the lake and there we change transportation to a minibus that will take us to Monteverde. Once in The Reserve you will have the option of choosing among making the SKY TREK or SKY WALK where you will have the opportunity to appreciate the great beauty of the Cloud Forest area, characterized by their enormous quantity and variety of flora and fauna.

This section is ideal for first time rafters. You will be able to view the scenic presence and singular beauty of the unexplored humid tropical forest while floating down the river, in a 2.5 hour trip. The river is located about 1 hour and 30 min. away from La Fortuna.

Class III & IV: If you have done rafting before, feel you are in good shape and enjoy extreme emotions, this is what you are looking for. More than 17 continuous level III and IV rapids will show you the experience of a fast and exiting journey.

Experience the peacefulness of the forest traveling on Peñas Blancas river, with the opportunity to observe many animals like: monkeys, sloths, iguanas, tortoises, crocodiles, and several types of birds. Our boat does not use motor, this way you will enjoy the journey quietly rowing and taking pictures without disturbing the animals.

The adventure begins when you arrive at the stables and the guides give you a safety briefing. You then get fitted up with your equipment, mount up, and ride 45 minutes through a pasture and wooded area that is host to monkeys, sloths, toucans, and other birds. When you arrive at the canopy, you are given the necessary equipment. Then we continue with a short hike through the forest where a guide gives an informative narration about the forests, plants, and trees that prevail in this kind of tropical area.

Depart from La Fortuna at 8:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. to enjoy a pleasant morning of kayaking on Lake Arenal and breath taking views of the Arenal Volcano. On your trip you may observe different species of birds like the "Flycatcher", "Kingfisher", "Great Blue Heron" and "Anhinga" and may also possibly hear the Howler monkeys!

We start at the ATV TOUR base after a little explanation about how to drive the ATV and safety rules. We ride to La Fortuna Waterfall, and after this we go to Jauri Town to see different kinds of plantations, later we come back the same way to visit a nice butterfly farm, we continue on to La Guaria Town looking for the Arenal River,where we have time for a little snack; and a refreshing shower. Finishing with a return to the base and your respective hotel.

We trek through the forest on magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience. Along the way we will have the chance to discover the secrets that lie hidden deep within the canyon.

This ride takes us on an old road connecting Arenal Dam with the main entrance to the Arenal Volcano National Park. From there we go towards the Arenal Observatory Lodge and the village of El Castillo. We'll be biking on a quiet lane surrounded by dense forest and a few cattle farms. Along the ride we often see howler monkeys, coatis, and many birds like toucans, egrets and king fishers. We'll stop for a picnic on the shore of Lake Arenal where it's possible to swim. The volcano is visible during most of the ride and we can often hear its activity while we bike.

Casting and Trolling for four hours at the Arenal Lake, trying for a especial fish: Rainbow Bass (Guapote) and a great fighter: Machaca or Sabalete. Fishing boats and first class professional equipment are included. Fruits, snacks and beverages are provided on the tour. Season for fishing at Arenal Lake is practically good all year around, with the best results on summer days.

We leave at 7:30 with course to Varablanca. The first hour of the travel is through the San Carlos plain, a fertile and rich land where we can find plantations of yucca, orange, corn, rice, papaya, sugar cane, coconuts, passion fruit, forest plantations and pastures. This zone bathed by pristine rivers, among them San Carlos River, protects important areas of tropical forest inside national parks and nature preserves.

Costa Rica Provides unquestionably the most fascinating ballooning in the world-low and slow drifting, over rain forests or mountain villages, caressing the tops of giants trees, dipping into the white water rivers, chasing monkeys in tree-tops. With the right climatic conditions, we sometimes find ourselves ascending to watch awesome Arenal volcano erupting above its halo of clouds.

The fastest way to Monteverde, our tour operator provides transportation to the Arenal Dam. At 9:00 a.m. we will board our boat for around 35 minutes observing a beautiful panorama and sightseeing in front of our colossal friend, the Arenal Volcano.On the other side of the lake, four wheel drive trucks will be waiting and will take us to Santa Elena.
