Arenal Volcano Hike

On this hike along the trails of the Arenal Volcano National Park, you will enter the tropical forest and areas that were once devastated by the fury of the Volcano. During the walk it is possible to observe a great variety of flora and fauna typical of the area, until reaching the “Lava Flows of 1992”, a large accumulation of volcanic material expelled from the crater of this conical-shaped colossus in a period of great activity during that year.
What they need to bring: hiking or sports shoes, comfortable clothes, rain coat, insect repellent, bathing suit and towel in case they are going to the hot springs.

Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge

The tour starts with an approximately two-hour drive to Los Chiles.During this time our guide will explain the different most relevant aspects that are presented throughout the trip, we will observe agricultural plantations such as papaya, yucca, orange, ornamental plants among others.
We will continue our adventure with a two-hour tour in the covered boat, along the Frio River until we reach the entrance of the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge. On the banks of the river we will be able to observe a large number of species that inhabit the area, such as sloths, birds, iguanas, caimans, lizards, bats, monkeys and a large amount of flora and fauna.

Canyoning

We will walk through the forest along magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place that very few people get to experience. Along the way we will have the opportunity to discover the secrets that are hidden deep inside the canyon. This trip starts with a 30-minute 4×4 ride through the tropical rainforest outside in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano.
We will rappel from the top of a beautiful canyon where the first waterfall is located. The adventure includes four abseils three of which are along the waterfalls, and one on the face of a dry stone. You will have the opportunity to see tropical birds, monkeys and thousands of different types of plants and flowers.

Venado Caves

Getting into the bowels of the earth is possible by visiting this place. Underground passages will take us through caves and chambers, exploring a world indifferent to light. With lanterns to light the way, we will enter this labyrinth of ancient underground rivers and sea beds, exposed now after thousands of years. Rock formations called stalactites and stalagmites, are common inside the caves, some hang from the rocky ceiling and others arise from the ground.
Large colonies of bats inhabit the caverns, as well as spiders and crabs. Live a unique experience in Costa Rica and get ready to get wet, get dirty and get to know this different world that will leave you with different emotions.
What they need to bring: sandals with tie at the foot, clothes to get wet, change clothes, towel and insect repellent.

The Forest Reserve of the Hanging Bridges covers an area of 243 hectares of protected forest. It is ideal for walkers who want to admire the characteristics of the tropical rainforest.On a 3.1 kilometer trail you will cross 15 impressive bridges, some of them suspended over forest. The bridges have different lengths and altitudes. They were made in order to appreciate the flora and fauna from a different perspective, since they pass through several levels of the forest.

Rio Celeste Guided Tour

This unique hike combines the beauty of nature with a great opportunity to observe the wonderful flora and fauna of the area. During our hike through the Tenorio Volcano National Park we passed by the Rio Celeste Lagoon and passed by two crystalline streams that join to form a Rio Celeste. Here the clear water mysteriously changes to a beautiful light blue color (hence the name “Celestial River”).
Walking along the trails of the national park, we will visit an area where volcanic smoke is expelled at high temperatures at the bottom of the river creating sulfur-smelling bubbles. The impressive Rio Celeste waterfall offers a breathtaking view.

Safari In Peñas Blancas River

Experience the tranquility of the forest traveling along the Peñas Blancas River with the opportunity to observe many animals such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, turtles, crocodiles, and different types of birds.
Our boat does not have a motor, so you can enjoy the trip quietly rowing and taking photos, while enjoying drinks and tropical fruits without disturbing the animals. Monteverde In 1 Day

We will start the tour at 7 a.m. our transport will pick you up at your place of stay in La Fortuna and we will take you to the Arenal Lagoon, where you will take the boat that will take you to the other side of the lagoon and there we will change transport back to a minibus that will take you to the Monteverde Reserve. Once in the Reserve you will have the option to choose between doing the SKY TREK or SWY WALK and in either of the two you will have the opportunity to appreciate the great beauty of this Cloud Forest area, characterized by its enormous amount and variety of flora and fauna.
Then we will have lunch in the town of Santa Elena, and then continue with our tour in Monteverde, then we will visit the Botanical Garden where you can more easily appreciate a wide variety of plants that make up The Reserve. At about 3:30 p.m. we will start our journey back to La Fortuna.
